Learning Goals

This program introduces advanced writing styles and techniques, and students will be challenged to complete multiple specific, intense writing outputs each term that test each student's comprehension and composition capabilities in a single area.


Term 1: Fiction, Short and Long

  • Learn to analyse fiction, write with word limits and various grammatical stipulations to produce several flash fiction pieces.

Term 2: The Big Questions - Issue-based writing

  • Develop a critical eye towards the questions that both the Hong Kong and international communities face in the 21st century 
  • Engage in a series of debates, speeches, and presentations on captivating, intriguing, and even controversial social issues

Term 3: On Screen, On Stage

  • Acquire the techniques and skills needed to construct their own drama scripts, monologues, and short films
